You know, Thranduil is actually the only Third Age Elven ruler who isn’t using a Ring of Power to protect his lands. Elrond has Vilya, Galadriel has Nenya, and even Cirdan (ruler of the Grey Havens) had Narya until he gave it to Gandalf.
So for thousands of years Thranduil has been defending his lands on his own against Orcs, Goblins, and Giant Spiders, plus Sauron setting up a summer home in his forest. And yet his hair STILL looks perfect.
You know, if I’ve posted about my brother and I don’t want to see it on your dash - unfollow me.
I give no fucks right now.
Yesterday when I got to the hospital, my brother was watching Supernatural and asked me up watch it with him.
I can’t believe he’s been there since Saturday morning. I’m so thankful that his wounds are healing so quickly! While that’s a great thing we have no idea if he will ever be able to feel his left leg. His right leg thankfully only has a few cuts. His hips however are fractured on one side and shattered on the other side.
I never thought I would become a part time nurse. I’m taking care of my mother. She keeps forgetting to eat do I keep having to gently remind her to eat. When she does go to get food I become my little brother’s part time nurse.
There were so many times I would have to translate the rest of my family what they were doing to my brother for his procedures, explained the extent of his injuries and his recovery time table.
My mother and I are so involved with his healthcare. We have gotten to know all of his nurses. If my mom forgets to ask a question or follow up, I step in to make sure everything gets done.
My brother is insanely lucky that his bestfriend of 10 years is now a nurse. She has been a blessing. She seriously has. I am so happy she is always there for him when she isn’t at work. She cried with us, curled up in the cold hospital room with us. As far as I’m concerned she is family.
I’m going to shower and spend time with him before I go to work and I’ll go afterwards too.
